The official determination of trail closures due to weather-related issues, construction, or other factors is determined by the City of Fort Wayne. They will post all updates on the Fort Wayne Public Works website.

When Fort Wayne Trails is notified of closures, we will issue a Trail Alert on social media. Please look for this graphic on our Facebook page.

The City of Fort Wayne does its best to remove snow from most major trail sections within the city limits. Snow will only be removed if there has been more than 3 inches of snow and is usually cleared within about a week. Public Works does its best to keep us updated on the progress of snow removable and we will pass that information when we have it. The Fort Wayne Parks Department does the plowing in the parks. The County will see less plowing as the resources and equipment are not as readily available.
